Beetle Kdramas

This week we will discuss one of the most popular dramas in 2019. "He is Psychometric" starring Park Jin Young (Got7), Shin Ye Eun, Kim Da Som and Kwon Kim is an unusual drama. It aired from March till the end of April. The show created a buzz in terms of both acting and directing, and Park Min Young earned rave reviews thanks to his acting here. Story and Writing He is Psychometric is a mystery, thriller, sci-fi romantic drama. It is a refreshing drama that discusses the reason behind an arson case in an apartment building. The main heroes are both survivors of the fire, and the female cast is also fully connected to the case somehow. The themes discussed in the drama are all unusual, way beyond simple mystery, there is tragedy, psychology, corruption and ignorance. The writer of the drama did a fantastic job exploring the characters and explaining their backgrounds in details. She made sure to stay away from any stereotypes and even the ending, which I will not sp...

A veteran actor in the Korean industry. He started acting more than 20 years ago and went through all the proper stages to mature and become the kind of actor he is now. If you are unfamiliar with this guy, you gotta check out some of his recent roles. He is a master of complicated characters, and he literally becomes the character. His top roles, in my opinion, are some of his recent roles, however, with some more research, you might probably find some gems in his old roles as well. Remember (2015) This drama is an iconic drama in the history of this actor. He plays a petty antagonist with some real psychological issues. The show discusses power abuse, corruption, struggle, love and sadness. It is a unique drama starring Yoo Seung-Ho, the actor we spoke about in our previous article. Namgoong Min acts as a murderer in this drama, and he is literally " Trash" if we quote what the actor himself said about the character. This trashy character is well-acted...

"I Can Hear Your Voice" starring Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young is a suspense romantic drama with a unique plot. It is the real start for actor Lee Jong Suk as we know him now. The show has quite a different feel from ordinary romantic dramas, and although the actors have a bit of an age difference, they are really compatible. Actors and Characters: Lee Bo-young  acts as Lawyer  Jang Hye-sung,  the lawyer who doesn't care. She is a character that is hard to forget. Her character is courageous but at the same time, a scaredy-cat. At first, she appears careless, however, throughout the drama, she changes drastically.  Lee Jong-suk,  on the other hand ,  acts  Park Soo Ha , a youngster with a sad past. His character is a very complicated character, to say the least, and he does a fantastic job acting as a character with a special power.  Jung Woong-in , who acts as Min Joon-gook, is another great actor in this drama. Wanna know what it i...

As fans of Kpop, we all like to see our Bae try something new, especially acting because then we get to see them weekly for some-time. Some idols succeed in giving us perfect satisfaction as actors and some don't. We keep loving them though, just not as actors. Everyone probably has their list of the best Idol-Actors and we decided to share our list with you.  Best Kpop Idols Who Can Act 1. Choi Siwon ( Super Junior) Super Junior's first centre "Choi Siwon" is probably one of the best Idol-Actors you could think about. His first role in the drama "Oh My Lady" was very good. Although the drama itself was not highly rated, his acting did show enough talent to grab the attention of various directors. He followed that role with some unique roles in dramas like Posseidon, She Was Pretty, King of Dramas, etc. No one can forget his acting in “ I Was Pretty”, it left us all heartbroken with the worst second lead syndrome you could think about. His f...

This week's BeetBits Review will focus on yet another Chinese drama. " Best Lover " is a Korean-Chinese collaboration drama. It stars the famous "My Girl" actress Lee Da Hae and the new "Super Junior" singer Zhou Mi .  Dubbing Issue The reason I chose to review this drama this week especially is because this drama is the first one ever to make me encourage dubbing. For those of you who don't know, this drama is available on Netflix. However, I don't encourage watching this one on Netflix at all. The version available everywhere is totally different from the Netflix version. Somehow Netflix bought the version before the dub was added or removed the dubbed voices. Whatever the case is, the version on Netflix shows a full Korean drama with one Chinese guy always speaking Mandarian, and somehow the people understand him. It makes no sense, and it is irritating to any viewer who understands that these are in fact, two different languages...

Best Supporting Korean Actors Ever fell in love with a second lead and then discovered that he does not have a lot in his resume. Ever felt that you really wanted the main role for someone and waited to see it happen. We all had moments were we suffered from the second lead syndrome. We just hoped so bad to have the heroine end with that guy somehow cuz, come on, he deserves it. Below you will find our list of the supporting actors I think deserve more love: 1- Yoon Park Yoon Park is definitely a handsome and talented guy, however, he definitely does not get enough roles for someone that talented. His role in "What Happened To My Family?" was definitely such a heart-wrenching role. Although, I would rather not spoil the story, however, one specific scene in the hospital where he works just broke my heart. He also played stunning roles in dramas like " Come Back Ahjushi" and "Introverted Boss" 2- Dong Ha ...

As an avid reader of books, fanfiction, fiction, etc. I have decided to dedicate a special section on this blog to reading. The Reading Bee will consist of book reviews, fanfiction reviews, online article reviews, etc. Every two-four weeks, I will write a recommendation article or a review of a book of some kind. This will probably be the only section with non-Asian related articles from now on. One Piece Stories Today, I will write about my favourite One Piece Fanfictions. One Piece is a legendary anime to many people, and it really tickles the imagination of fanfiction writers. Fans love a good fanfiction, and I personally strive to find the best of the best. If you are like me, check out the following list : 1-   Mindshattered By Velkyn Karma If you are looking for a dramatic fic, there is nothing more tragic than this one. The story takes place right after the 3 years time skip. However, the place Zoro ends up in is slightly different from Mihawk's cas...
